How to grow from seed
PERENNIAL
DAYS TO GERMINATION
14-21 days at 65-75F. To encourage germination, soak seeds overnight or scarify seeds.
SOWING
Need cold stratification of 4-6 weeks. Sow 4-8 weeks prior to planting out. The hard seeds benefit from scarification or soaking for adequate germination. Can tolerate a light frost. Deep trays or cells encourage long tap roots. Thin to one plant per cell, or direct seed in early to late spring.

Requires cold stratifiction and scarifying seeds to increase a successful germination. Lupine seedlings and roots need space to grow and expand and once restricted will produce inferior plants and flowers. Directly sown seeds need a light cover for protection.
